Special visitors from Salt Lake City delivering baby things for the Maternity Hospital and other things for members in branches in the outskirts of the city.

Our daughter Julie Tyler found out about the humanitarian effort of the Senior Missionaries here in Guatemala City and formed a special project in her ward.  The project is to gather from the US some baby receiving blankets and clothes for the new mothers that need to go to the Maternity Hospital that takes mothers who cannot afford care and in need of clothes after their child is born.  It has been reported that the mothers often have to wrap their newborn babes in newspapers.  When the word gets out about the need, the outpouring of love and generosity is overwhelming.  When Julie´s ward was informed through the Relief Society newsletter of the need there was a goal set that in one month enough newborn clothing was to be donated so that Sister Kathia Bair and Sister Adilfa Ford could come to Guatemala bringing not only two but four suitcases filled with clothing.  Sister Bair works for United and has standby privileges which has taken her many places to help others.  Sister Ford is her bff and accompanied her on the trip. Sister Ford went to the Humanitarian Services of the church and received enough clothing for children and women to fill two more suitcases to bring to Guatemala.

In a short period of time the clothing will be sorted out and distributed.  here are some pictures of the suitcases.  Stay tuned.  I will take pictures and add them as the progress goes on.
 These suitcases weigh a ton.
